Why we are here

A childhood that still feels like childhood

Childhood does not need to be a race. There is no finish line to reach first.

Every child is born with fitrah: a good, innate potential entrusted by Allah from the very beginning. Our task is not to mould a child into something they are not, but to protect and nurture what is already within them. Childhood is a time to wonder, try things, make mistakes, make friends, and discover the world through ordinary little moments, supported by an environment ready to welcome and walk alongside them.

No two children are alike, so no two learning journeys are alike. Teachers and an educational psychologist observe each child continuously and offer personalised learning sessions, so every child is truly known and valued at each unique stage of their development.

Every child is unique. We do not expect every child to grow in the same way or at the same pace. We practise personalised learning: we take time to notice what draws a child in, what already feels comfortable, what is still challenging, and how they like to learn. Learning experiences are shaped from those observations, following each child’s interests, readiness, and learning style, not the other way round.

Because children grow best when they feel safe, understood, and free to explore, with boundaries and guidance suited to their needs.

Our vision

Creating a warm space where every child is understood, valued, and given room to grow into who they are, in step with their stage of development.

Our mission

  • Nurture each child’s fitrah through warm relationships, meaningful experiences, and loving guidance.
  • Make learning personal by following each child’s interests, pace, and developmental needs, through close collaboration between teachers and psychologists.
  • Stay close to families through honest observations, sincere reflection in getting to know each child, and continuous, joined-up communication.

What we nurture

The little things that matter over a lifetime Our teachers gently notice each of these in your child, day by day. Once your little one joins us, you’ll see their small steps in every one of them in the reports we share with you.

We believe a meaningful life is built in small moments—how a child explores, cares, connects, expresses themselves, and grows.

These are the little parts of everyday life we pay attention to at Little Fitrah.

Iman

Building a gentle connection with Allah through gratitude, kindness, wonder, and everyday Islamic values.

Curiosity

Making room for questions, trying things out, and discovering what the world has to offer.

Jasmani

Growing strength, coordination, balance, and confidence through movement and sensory-motor play.

Self & Environment Care

Growing independence and responsibility through everyday things: caring for their own needs, tidying and looking after their belongings, and helping to look after the spaces and surroundings we share.

Estetika & Kreativitas

Giving children room to express themselves, and inviting them to make, notice, and enjoy beauty by exploring art and the nature around them to create something meaningful.

Social-Emotional Awareness

Learning to recognise and express feelings, manage emotions in healthy ways, make friends, and care for the people around them.

Agency

Giving children real choices, room to take initiative, and the confidence to try things for themselves.

Learning Readiness

Building the foundations for learning through language and early mathematical thinking, the ability to listen and follow guidance, focus, managing tools and time, trying and solving problems on their own, and the curiosity to keep exploring.

These are not boxes to tick or milestones to race toward. They are different parts of a little one’s growing story—each unfolding in its own time.

A day at Little Fitrah

Two hours with a meaningful rhythm.

There is room for each child to bring their learning needs and find their place, and a learning menu to choose from that keeps building boundaries and achievements.

  1. 09.00–09.20

    Free Centre Exploration

Exploration across our nine centres: from motor integration, art and creativity, and block construction to early academic foundations and a range of open-ended materials. Children are free to choose, try, build, test, and learn by doing, with teachers alongside to guide and facilitate.

  2. 09.20–09.35

    Tidy Up & Circle Time

Building good habits and a sense of responsibility, and giving children room to get ready for the next part of the day.

  3. 09.35–09.55

    Outdoor Play & Sensory Integration

Getting the body ready: meeting sensory needs and building motor readiness, so children are better prepared for focused, meaningful learning.

  4. 09.55–10.15

    Snack Time

A chance to practise independence and care by preparing food together and getting to know a variety of healthy foods.

  5. 10.15–10.45

    Learning Menu

A choice of two learning menus, prepared around the children’s learning needs and interests, and run with the whole class.

  6. 10.45–11.00

    Reflection Time

We close the day by noticing and valuing each child’s feelings and what they have understood, so they feel secure going into the next day’s rhythm.

Every day brings something new. And every little moment gives us another opportunity to understand your little one.

Personalised learning

Every child has their own way of growing

Learning that begins with understanding.

No two children are exactly alike. So why should their learning journey be?

At Little Fitrah, we take time to understand each child through everyday observations, meaningful interactions, and developmental reflections guided by our psychologist.

We pay attention to what a child enjoys, what feels challenging, how they communicate, and how they respond to different experiences.

These observations help us create thoughtful ways to learn that meet children where they are—and gently encourage them to take their next little step.

We do not believe in rushing development or comparing children against one another. We believe in noticing, understanding, and nurturing progress—one child at a time.

How we work

Growing together, one small step at a time

A simple rhythm of noticing, responding, and staying close to families.

Children change all the time. So we keep watching, thinking, and adjusting—not to chase a target, but to understand what they need next.

  1. Understand

We start by getting to know your little one—their interests, routines, strengths, and the things they are still figuring out.

  2. Plan

We use what we learn to prepare activities and opportunities that make sense for the child in front of us.

  3. Explore & Observe

Your little one learns through play, relationships, movement, exploration, and everyday life. We notice and record the moments that matter.

  4. Reflect & Share

Over time, observations are brought together with psychologist-guided reflection, then shared with families in a way that is easy to follow.

  5. Begin Again

As your little one changes, we keep getting to know them—and let that understanding shape what comes next.

There is no finish line here. Just an ongoing process of noticing, understanding, nurturing, and growing together.

For families

A little window into your child’s day

Because the little things matter to you, too.

We know that leaving your little one in someone else’s care is a meaningful decision.

That’s why we want you to feel connected to your little one’s day—not just know that they attended, but understand what they experienced, enjoyed, and discovered.

Through our daily reports, you’ll receive meaningful glimpses into your little one’s learning journey, including:

  • Activities and experiences from the day
  • Observations of your child’s participation and development
  • Individual learning indicators, where relevant
  • A personal note from the educator

Our reports are made to help you understand your little one—not to label, compare, or grade them.

More than a daily update

Over time, these little observations help us see patterns, recognize progress, and understand where your little one may benefit from additional support or new opportunities.

What we believe

What we believe about childhood

Children deserve room to grow without having to hurry through childhood.

We do not rush childhood.

Every child has their own rhythm. We make room for it.

We do not compare children.

Every child brings different interests, strengths, and things they are still growing into.

We do not turn children into numbers.

We pay attention to what actually happened—not a score that tries to sum up a child.

Why we do not use averages

We do not expect every child to learn the same way.

Different children need different invitations, experiences, and kinds of support.

We do not believe learning only happens at a table.

Children learn while moving, playing, talking, imagining, helping, wondering, and living everyday life.

We believe in gentle guidance, thoughtful spaces, and giving children room to become.

Who you will meet Meet the founders

Afifah Nurul Karimah

Afifah Nurul Karimah, M.Psi., Psikolog

Co-Founder

A mother, an educational psychologist, and a lecturer in Islamic Psychology, Afifah cares deeply about nurturing each child’s fitrah and personalising learning for every unique stage of development.

She believes understanding a child comes before changing their behavior, and that every child deserves to be seen as a whole person. She holds firmly to the power of deep observation and close collaboration between teachers and psychologists in the classroom, so that each child’s learning needs are truly understood and learning fits each child’s own profile.

Zidna Qoulan Tsaqila

Zidna Qoulan Tsaqila

Co-Founder

A father and a business architecture consultant, Zidna enjoys building thoughtful systems and spaces that make it easier for people to grow.

He also believes the small moments of childhood are worth noticing and worth recording in one joined-up system that is easy to reach, so that children, families, educators, and psychologists can share what they understand about each child and grow together towards what is best for them.

In the classroom Meet our teachers

Nuha Rofifah

Nuha Rofifah (Ms. Nuha)

As an educator, Nuha finds joy in helping children help their self. Nuha believes that every child is born with the eagerness to learn and fulfill their mental needs. She understands that for children, especially in early years, experiencing and working things with their own hands is the fundamental part of learning. Children love to work and construct their inner discipline so their independence can flourish beautifully.

For her, the “hands are the instrument of intelligence.” quote from Maria Montessori is not just a word, it’s a way of teaching that Nuha holds firmly.

Jasmine Rahma Amalia

Jasmine Rahma Amalia (Miss Jasmine)

A graduate in educational psychology with a background in Montessori education, Jasmine believes that every child has their own rhythm, needs, and way of learning.

Through respectful observation and meaningful connection, she hopes to nurture children’s self-understanding, curiosity, resilience, confidence, and independence. She believes children grow best when they are understood, trusted, and given the space to become who they are.

Together, we built Little Fitrah as a small place where children are seen as themselves, families feel close to the process, and little steps are worth noticing.

Good to know

Questions parents often ask

What age group is Little Fitrah for?

Little Fitrah is designed for toddlers and young children aged 2.5–5 years.

What feels different about Little Fitrah?

We give children plenty of room to learn through opportunities to explore and to choose, guided by integrated, ongoing observation by teachers and psychologists, while paying close attention to who each child is. We care about curiosity, independence, relationships, and growing foundations—not about racing through academic targets or comparing children.

Does every child follow the same curriculum?

There is a shared rhythm and shared group experiences, but not every child has to learn in exactly the same way. Educators adjust activities and opportunities around each child’s interests, observations, and developmental needs.

How does the psychologist contribute?

Our psychologist helps us step back and look more deeply at a child’s development. This adds another perspective to the everyday observations made by educators; it does not replace them.

Will parents receive updates about their child?

Yes. Families can see daily observations about what their little one experienced, did, and discovered. Over time, there are also developmental reflections to help you see the bigger picture.

Do you give grades or academic rankings?

No. We would rather show you what was actually observed than turn a child’s experiences into a grade or ranking.

How can we learn more or enroll?

Send us a message on WhatsApp. Ask anything you are wondering about, and we will be happy to tell you more and explain how enrolment works.
